Serving others is a key part of what it means to be part of God’s church and joining a team is a great way of meeting and getting to know others.
When we meet together as a church on Sundays or for other events throughout the year, there is always a dedicated team of people working hard behind the scenes to make things happen. We want to make sure that every event and activity we run as a church is a welcoming, inviting and enjoyable experience for everyone involved! It takes a number of people serving on teams to make this happen and being part of one of the teams listed below is a great place to start. It’s also a fantastic way to meet people whom you might not get to know otherwise and build some friendship with those you serve alongside.
Venue and Events Team – it is such a privilege to pray for an event whilst setting up the venue to serve others and to facilitate God’s work. This team is essential, very much behind the scenes and so needed. The team works in pairs, with ideally a third member to cover absences. For larger functions and events, a bigger team is needed to help with stewarding, safe-guarding and event support. You do not have to be strong to serve in this way! To serve in Bracknell, contact Tony and in Reading, contact Rob.
Hospitality & Cafe team – serving refreshments and, even better, cakes with a smile is so important to us as a Church community. We read in the bible how Jesus loved to hang out with his followers and this always involved food and fellowship together. This team is a great way to meet everybody in the Church and a wonderful way to help visitors feel loved and welcomed. No training is required, just a cheerful heart to serve others. To serve in Bracknell, contact Tony and in Reading, contact Rob.
Technical Production Team – As a Church. spirit-led worship is an important expression for us. To enable this to happen, a small team is needed to assist with everything that appears on the screen in services and also at special events. Sound and lighting are also important to and neither are as complicated as you would think. Full training is provided. To serve in Bracknell, contact Tony and in Reading, contact Rob.
Welcome & Connect Team – First impressions count. The Welcome and Connect team point people towards the information they need and help newcomers feel generally at home and enable them to get involved into church life. This team are really important as they greet and welcome visitors and help them feel at ease. To serve in Bracknell, contact Tony and in Reading, contact Rob.
