Baptism & Dedication
Dedication: We love families and children! At Network Vineyard Church we offer parents the chance to have a child dedication. This is an opportunity for parents and God-parents (if they so choose) to make a public commitment to raising their child within the family of God and guiding them to a personal relationship with Jesus. We are happy to have up to three families dedicate a child on each date. Please let us know if you are happy to share with another family or not.
Baptism: Being baptised is a wonderful and powerful experience for those being baptised as they celebrate new life, and a statement of faith to their family and friends. It’s a beautiful celebration with the church family and a personal way of being able to say to God, “thank you”, We tend to have one or two baptism events in the year (generally over the summer months!). If you would like to find out more, at the Bracknell campus please contact Tony and at Reading, contact Elise.
What is baptism?
Baptism is a public declaration of our faith in Jesus Christ and of our decision to follow and serve him as Lord, and as such, it serves as a sign of our entrance into the fellowship of his church. It is also a very meaningful and powerful symbol of what God has provided for us in Jesus: the forgiveness of our sins and the promise of everlasting life.
Why should I?
Basically, because Jesus told us to. There are two ordinances (or sacraments) which Jesus told us to do. the first is communion (the Lord’s supper) and the second is Baptism. Jesus was not into religious rituals at all and so this is not a meaningless ritual but has spiritual significance.
